Warm Mushroom Crostini
Mushrooms are truly a great friend to all red wine, but most especially when seasoned with Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Cabernet. Their earthy flavor brings out the rich complexity of our blend, enhanced by its woody notes of juniper and rosemary, and undertones of allspice and espresso.
This quick mushroom sauté is a perfect crostini topping for entertaining when served with your favorite big, bold Cab…or use it to crown a thick ribeye or filet mignon steak.
- 1/4 cup Shallot, minced
- 1/2 stick Butter
- 1-pint Crimini Mushrooms, sliced
- 2 Tbs Heavy Cream
- 1 Tbsp Chopped Parsley
- 1 Tbs Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Cabernet
Step 1 – Sauté shallots and mushrooms over medium heat for 3 minutes.
Step 2 – Add the Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Cabernet and the cream. Continue to sauté for another 3 minutes.
Step 3 – For an easy entertaining bite: Use to top toasted crostini bread, garnish with parsley and serve!
